THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

WHAT DOES KARMA BREAD MEAN?

The name Karma Bread comes from a deep-rooted philosphy of Tami and the Karma Bread family - we lovingly bake with all-natrual ingredients resulting in the best tasting food for our customers!

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Karma Bread is the labour of love of baker and founder, Tami Isaacs Pearce, known lovingly by her customers as The Challah Queen. Tami found her passion for baking bread quite accidentally about three years ago, when she took a course in bread making at the Hampstead Garden Suburb Institute. "I had turned 40 and had an urge to try something new," explains Tami. "It was love at first bake!"

It was then that the obsession began and Tami would travel the country taking classes wherever she could.

FROM HOMEBAKE...TO HAMPSTEAD

Applying her new found skills baking small batch production out of her home, the word got around of her exceptional breads and within a year, Karma Bread micro bakery had reached full capacity, with a rapidly expanding private client base and a handful of London's premium delis supplying her breads, snacks and baked treats.

On June 28, 2015, Karma Bread opened it's flagship bakehouse and we've been thriving ever since.
